Growing up I was a very active child. At age 4 I started playing soccer, and age 8 I had taken up competitive springboard diving. I worked extremely hard at both sports sacrificing time with my friends and family to hopefully one day be offered a scholarship. After many years of driving across border to tournaments and competitions, my hard work paid off and I became a national level diver by age 12, and was offered a Division 1 scholarship by age 17.
I decided to make a career in fitness by being a personal trainer when I was 21. For me the decision was easy. Fitness had been such a huge part of my life, I couldn't see myself with out it!
Surprisingly, I gained A LOT of weight during my pregnancies due to poor eating and lack of exercise. I thought due to my young faster metabolism I wouldn't gain weight. Boy was I wrong! In 2 pregnancies I gained a combined total of 100lbs and I had to work 10x harder than I normally did to get the weight off! I was so disappointed in myself.
When I became a mom, I had a greater appreciation for parents who struggled balancing kids, work, meals and trying to find time to workout! It was clear to me I needed to develop a plan for mom's and dad's (and myself!) to follow that was simple, realistic and most importantly got results that would last a lifetime!
As my children grew older, it was also very important to me that I be a good role model. I wanted my children to grow up in a household of active living and home made meals much like I did. I devote my time as a coach to encouraging clients to live the healthiest lifestyle possible. I believe that if I can do it, you can too! It means the world to me to have people walk in our facility, entrusting us with their health and fitness, and walking out with a completely transformed mind and body that will last them a lifetime!
